Snippets From Old Journals

Below are random snippets from a journal I used a lot in 2010 and have barely touched since. None of them are named or dated, so I just threw them together into one post to avoid having to name or date them. Laziness is the name of the game. Haha. Anyway, enjoy.
(PS: Note that the third poem is not mine, but Steven James' from a beautiful book called Story.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Be a little less careful;
Don't worry.
Not every surface
Is stainless.

They tell you
You're the prey the weak feed upon,
But give them God
And your resources
Will never
Deplete.

Be a little more daring;
Don't stop.
Don't stop just because
Idiots
Are in your way.
They learn in time.

Give them God
For He is timeless.
They'll learn a lot quicker
That way.

---------------------------------------------

I run around
With my big eyes
Big mouth
And tiny hands.
You grow
What you use
I guess.

---------------------------------------------

prophets yell because
their hearts are on fire.

they scream at the world
trying to wake us up.

they can't help it.
after all,
God is in their throats.
-- from Story by Steven James

---------------------------------------------

I'm done with wishes
cause wishes don't come true
and I really don't think they're supposed to.

I'm through with hating;
it gets me nowhere.
The best it ever did was mess with my hair.

The rest just doesn't matter.
Nothing's worth the time.
God must hate me for all the things life does.

Permission's
taking its break.
Transition's
on its way.
I can't live knowing
you don't care where I go.
Life can't be this empty.

---------------------------------------------

The show I play,
Every single day,
My own creation
Hates my name.

When my face comes on the screen,
A thousand people die.
At least that's what they say.
